8th January 2010 - Rye Harbour, East Sussex by Paul Harrison The elusive Bittern !!! A great find !!!
11th January 2010 - Around Uckfield, East Sussex by Rob Thomas Bullfinches, Fieldfares and Redwings seen in my garden over several days, together with the ever-present cheeky Blue Tits.
11th January 2010 - Shinewater, Eastbourne by Paul Harrison Spectacular Kingfisher !!!
23rd January 2010 - Arlington Reservoir, East Sussex by Paul Harrison Three Goosanders !!! Another great find by the intrepid Paul Harrison !!!
15th February 2010 - Lewes Brooks (between Southese and Piddinghoe), East Sussex by Paul Harrison A Common Crane !!! Apparently, arrived the day before. Paul spent about half an hour viewing it through his 'scope before it took flight.
18th April 2010 - Rowlands Wood, East Sussex by Rob Thomas and Paul Harrison As Members of Butterfly Conservation (Sussex Branch), we were able to visit the new reserve recently purchased by the BC and to learn about the planned management of the site. A lot of work to be done over many years but it was lovely to already see some lovely sites, some of which are shown below.
